- アドレス情報の表示と編集

起動すると、OSXのデータベースから、Address Bookで登録した情報を読み出し、メインウインドウに一覧表を表示します．

左端に表示されるカラムでグループを選ぶとそのグループに属するメンバーが中央のカラムに表示されます．

メンバーを選ぶとそのメンバーに登録されたいろいろなアドレス情報が右端のカラムに表示されます．

ここまではOSXのAddress Bookとほぼ同じですが、異なるのはここからです．

登録内容を編集するにはサブウインドウを開きます．アドレス情報を詳しく表示したいカテゴリー毎に、ウインドウの右下に表示されるAddresses, Phones, Personal Information, Business Informationなどを選択し、"View & Edit"ボタンをクリックします．サブウインドウが開いて、グループメンバーの詳細なデータが一覧が表示されます．

その他の機能：

- P/C Switch

Business Informationウインドウの第２カラムP/Cは名前カラムに表示される名称を名/姓カラムに設定された値を利用するか、組織カラムに設定された値で利用するかを切り替えるものです．例えば、組織として「アップル」と登録して、P/C SwitchをONとすると、名前カラムの名称が「アップル」に切り替わります．合わせて、Nameカラムに表示されるアイコンが切り替わりますので、どちらに設定されているかを判断することができます．

- Name Ordering

本ソフトウエアのPreferencesでName Orderingを切り替えることができます．"Name Ordering"スイッチは名前カラムに表示される姓名の並びを変更します．スイッチがONのときは、英語式に名-姓の順で、逆のときは姓-名の順で姓名カラムにPersonal Informationウインドウの名/姓カラムで登録された名称が表示されます．

- Sort by first name

Preferencesにある"Sort by first name"スイッチがONのとき、名前カラムに表示される名称が名(First Name)を使ってソートされます．OFFのときは姓(Last Name)でソートされます．

- 修正したデータの保存

修正したデータをOSXののデータベースに保存するには、FileメニューのSaveアイテムをクリックします．データが編集されていない場合にはSaveアイテムは無効のまま、クリックできません．また、Saveせずに本ソフトウエアを終了すれば、OSXのデータベースが変更されることはありません．

なお、このソフトウエアを使用中にシステムのデータベースが変更された場合には（例えば、Apple Address Bookを起動して編集したり、MobileMeと同期した場合があります）、その旨の警告が表示されます．OKをクリックすると、このソフトウエアで編集中の内容を捨ててデータベースから読み直すことになります．このソフトウエアで編集した内容をデータベースに上書きする場合には、Cancelをクリック後、FileメニューからSaveを選びます．

- グループとメンバーの追加

グループの作成やメンバーの追加もこのソフトウエアで行なえます．メインウインドウの下部にある「＋」、「ー」ボタンをクリックしてください．

なお、特定のグループを表示しているときにメンバーを追加すると、そのメンバーはそのグループとともに"All"にも追加されます．OSXのデータベースとしては特定のグループにのみ存在するメンバーを作ることができないからです．

Leopard用のAddressBookAid2ではDrag&Dropにより別のグループのメンバーを指定したグループに追加することができます．例えば、Allに表示されたメンバーをクリックして、追加したいグループ名にドラッグ＆ドロップします．ドラッグしたメンバーがドロップしたグループに登録されます．

残念ながら、10.4用のAddressBookAidでは、メンバーを新規に作成する以外に、グループに既存のメンバーを追加することはできません．

修正するためには表示されたセルをダブルクリックします．Birthday/Other Date以外のセルは任意の文字列を入力することができます．

ただし、ウインドウの左端のNameカラムは編集することができません．名前カラムに表示される名称を変更する場合には、Personal Informationウインドウを表示し、名(First Name), 姓(Last Name)カラムの値を変更します．名前カラムの値がそこで設定したものに切り替わります．漢字で入力すれば、姓名カラムにも漢字が表示されます．

また、住所や電話番号には、自宅, 勤務先, 携帯などのラベルを付けることができます．左側のカラムに表示されるラベルを変更してから、セルの値を変更してください．

BirthdayとOther Dateカラムのセルに入力する値は、1999/1/1のようなデートフォーマットである必要があります．フォーマットが異なっている場合には入力値は無視されます．

※Addressesウインドウ以外のサブウインドウは、ライセンスキーが設定されるまで入力を行なうことができません．ライセンスキーの購入方法は「How to purchase」ページをご覧ください．

動作環境：

AddressBookAid を使用するためには Mac OS X 10.4 以降が必要です．

AddressBookAidは10.4,10.5および10.6で動作します．

AddressBookAid2は10.5および10.6で動作します．

AddressBookAid, AddressBookAid2 はユニバーサルバイナリです。

制限事項：

1. -ライセンスキーが登録されるまでは、いくつかのサブウインドウで編集が行なえません．
   

2. -ライセンスキーが登録されるまでは、印刷時に'Sample'と印刷されます．
   

3. -本ソフトウエアのPreferencesにある「住所の書式」は日本と米国のみに対応しています．
   

4. -Apple Address Bookのカスタマイズ機能を使ってユーザーが登録したラベルは正しく表示されない場合があります．
   

インストール方法：

ダウンロードしたzipファイルをダブルクリックするとAddressBookAidフォルダーができます．その中にあるReadmeJ.rtfおよびLicenseAgreement.rtfをお読みの上で、ソフトウエアを起動してください．本ソフトウエアは任意の場所で起動できます．

アンインストール方法：

本ソフトウエアAddressBookAidをゴミ箱に移動して消去することでアンインストールが行なえます．

≪著作権および免責事項≫

本ソフトウエアはシェアウエアです．ソフトウエアといっしょに配布されたLicense.rtfに書かれたライセンス条項を確認の上でご利用ください．

本ソフトウエアは機能が制限されてリリースされています．Addressesウインドウ以外のサブウインドウでは入力が行なえません．この制限を解除するためにはライセンスキーが必要です．ライセンスキーの購入方法は「How to Purchase」ページをご覧下さい．

- View and edit address database

When this software is launched, it reads the Address Book database from the system and shows it in one window. Just like in Apple Address Book, when you select a group in the left column, the member list is displayed in the middle column. When you select a member, registered data for the person of member is displayed in the right column.

The followings are the features of this software that are different from Apple Address Book.

When you select the "View & Edit type" popup menu and click the button in the bottom of the window, you can chose from Addresses, Phones, Personal Information. Then you can see the data of a selected group member in one window like on a spread sheet, and you can edit it.

To edit the data, you just double click the cell in the table of the window. You can type any characters in the cell except for Birthday and Other Date. Then you will see it updated in the right column of the main window.

However, cells in the Name column are protected. You can't edit cells in the column.  If you want to change the name in the Name column, you have to edit "First Name" and "Last Name" in the "Personal Information" window. When you edit them, the values in those columns are bound and displayed in the Name column.

The value of the Birthday and Other Date column must be date format such as 1999/1/1. Otherwise the input will be ignored.

Note: Other than Addresses window, cells are protected until a license key is set.

Other features

- P/C switch

In the Name column each name has an icon that shows whether the data is for a person or an organization. There is a switch in the column "P/C" in the "Business Information" window. When you mark the switch ON, the name in the "Organization" column is displayed in the Name column and the icon is changed to a organization icon.

- Name Ordering

You can change the order of names in the "Name" column through preferences. If the switch, "FirstNameFirst" is ON, "First Name" is placed left and "Last Name" is placed right in the Name column. If the switch is Off, "First Name" is right and "Last Name" is left.

- Sort by first name

The name which is shown in the Name column is sorted by the "first name". There is a switch called "Sort by first name" in the preferences. If the switch is ON, the names in the "Name" column are sorted by the first name. If the switch is OFF, the names are sorted by the last name.

- Save

When you finish editing your contacts, you can select "save" in the main menu, the same as in other applications. Then AddressBookAid over-writes the Apple Address Book database in your system. If you don't want to over-write it, you just quit this software. AddressBookAid doesn't change anything in the database in your system.

When an other application, including Apple Address Book, changes the system database while you are editing it by AddressBookAid, an alert message will popup. If you chose OK at the alert, AddressBookAid will discard your changes and reload the database from the system.

- Add group or member

There are two kind of the +/- buttons in the main window. You can add or delete groups or members with these buttons. When the add a member button is clicked while a group is selected, a new person is added to the group and "All". The system database doesn't allow a member who only belongs a specific group.

Also in AddressBookAid2 you can drag&drop a person to a group in order to add the person to the group. We are sorry but AddressBookAid for 10.4 doesn't have this drag&drop capability.

Operating system requirements:

Mac OS X 10.4 and later.

AddressBookAid works in Mac OS X 10.4,10.5 and 10.6.

AddressBookAid2 works in Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6

Both are "Universal" binary.

Restrictions:

1. -You can't edit contacts in some sub windows until registering a license key.
   

2. -Print functions are only available in Leopard and it requires a license key. Until a license key is registered, 'Sample' message will be printed on your documents.
   

3. -Address format in the Preferences is only available at 'United State' and 'Japanese'.
   

4. -When you customize a label at Apple Address Book, it may not be displayed in AddressBookAid.
   

Installation:

Double click on the zip file that you downloaded, then the AddressBookAid folder is created.  Please read the Readme.rtf and License.rtf in the folder before starting AddressBookAid.  This software can run from any location on your disk.

Uninstallation:

You can just delete this software from the installed folder in order to uninstall this software.
